I’m so happy for Chandler…I knew he would make it this round.

And…I’m glad Cornell admitted him. If they didn’t…I wasn’t giving any money to the campaign :D

Grantorture had a GT…so all he had to do was fulfill the requirements lined out in his GT offer. I believe he also submitted his forms early…so all CALS admissions had to do was verify he took the required courses and make the GPA cut.

I thought we were supposed to find out in mid-april too, but when i checked my e-mail there was a message from the director of transfer admissions at CALS with the subject, “Congratulations and Welcome to Cornell”. Pretty self-explanatory, lol

and congrats chandler! I too was rooting for you, and I always said you would get in :P

Congrats Chandler and everyone else who was accepted! To people who unfortunately weren’t: I’m positive you will find a place where you will be happy.

I also join the ranks of those rooting for Chandler. As an alum I am glad they saw the light. Cornell will be a better campus because of your enthusiam. Choose Cornell! It is “far above”…

yay Chandler and grandtortue!
and yay everyone else as well, but those are names I remember well! I mean I remember pulling for grandtortue last year when decisions came out!

the very first rejections posted had terrific stats. I feel bad for them. tonight’s a tough night for many folks I imagine.

also all of these threads make me think I really got something to live up to, don’t slack off and all that. you motivate me to be as good as you. :)

“Within the next few days you will receive notification from the undergraduate college to which you’ve applied that you are being offered a transfer option.”

Is it true that this means i’m getting guaranteed transfer?

[] Essays: I was scared about this one. I totally didn’t think I addressed the “Why Cornell?” aspect enough and was afraid I’d get waitlisted for it. I wrote about how I’ve done engineering/techy stuff since I was young. It got the job done.

[/ul]Other Factors:

Why do you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted/offered guaranteed transfer:

I honestly was very (pleasantly, of course!) surprised when I saw the acceptance. As mentioned above, I thought I was going to be waitlisted.

General Comments/Congratulations/etc:
Congratulations to my fellow acceptees. To those who weren’t so fortunate, keep your chin up; many more opportunities await in life.

nskk, yes that means you will get a GT. Wait and see the details when they arrive. I believe most get offered a GT to transfer to cornell after freshman yr, but I know some who got it for halfway through sophomore yr and transferred in the spring with me. Basically they give you a list of classes you must take and minimum gpa, and if you get that you are guaranteed transfer admission acceptance. Basically it means that if cornell is where you want to go, you will be able to, just not right away. It’s not a bad thing though, I know some who just went to community college had a great time, saved 50k, and took it easy for a year before coming here.

Got a GT. I am so happy after being defered from ILR ED thought I would get rejected. Now since I got into Macaulay at Hunter I get a full ride (meaning I can live in the NYC rent free + free tuition+ I get a macbook+ I get a $7500 stipend) and can go there for a year then I get to go to Cornell! Im really really exited.

Some quick stats
Male from Westchester, NY
33 act
3.5 uw gpa with 9 ap’s and some college credits.
