[/ul]Other Factors: Admission officers had really bad stomach pain when they reviewed my file.

Why do you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted/offered guaranteed transfer:
:stuck_out_tongue: My CR score is definitely too low due to my ethnicity. Before I submitted my application I knew that I would be rejected by many, many schools. Surprisingly, this admission season was way better than I thought! Got accepted to WUSTL, UChicago, and all of Canadian schools and some huge surprise! I also got waitlisted by a bunch of schools.

General Comments/Congratulations/etc:
Congratulation to all students accepted! You guys really deserve acceptance for your conscientiousness. To those who are rejected, I say this over and over again – do not let this rejection define you as a person. There are millions rejected who move on to achieve fulfilling and often successful lives.
I have some advice for prospective students. Definitely spend some time preparing for interviews, if applicable. I am just naturally quite talkative and persuasive. (My UChicago interview lasted for 2 hours hehe.) Definitely do a lot of research on the schools you love and really ask yourself why do you want to attend these schools. After this admission process, I now do not advise students to apply under Early Decision (ED), which is a binding commitment. I applied for Cornell ED, and I got deferred. Now I think of it, I am really glad that I did not get accepted because now I know its atmosphere is not really what I am looking for when it comes to college experience (not as intellectual as I would like it to be). I however, would strongly advise students to apply under EA to a safety school, so you have a back-up plan.
Finally, do not undermine the power of stats. Stats (grades, SAT, APs) are really, really important. I think that my CR score (680) definitely prevented me from being accepted by some top-notch colleges.

Anyone else get this message:

“Within the next few days you will receive notification from the undergraduate college to which you’ve applied that you are being offered a transfer option.”

What’s that supposed to mean.

Other Factors:

Why do you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted: very well rounded; NY resident?

General Comments/Congratulations/etc:
WOW i got into an IVY i cannot believe it.

congrats to all accepted

Rejected by Engineering. Oh, well. Cornell was my first choice, but I’m already over it. Now I’m waiting on the results of a CMU waitlist…

ED Admitted here, good luck to all of you guys.
I want to say, and I know people have said this, but rejections are not the end of the world kinds of things.

Get as angry as you can now so you can let go of it soon, so that it doesn’t get into the way with the finer things in life, like acceptance into another school.
Besides, think about it, you probably had to choose your high school. Accepted to the dream HS or not, if you had or had not gone to a specific school, how much would your life be different now, how much of a different path would you have taken.

Each path from now on until college graduation is probably completely different and that makes life interesting for everyone instead of being all dull and predictable. There is bound to be something for you in other schools. In 4-8 years, would your life be any better, or better yet, would you ever get a better job if you had gone to your dream school. Would you still want to do the same thing in life?

Oh yeah… Numbers don’t mean anything. 1860/2400 SAT I lol. Take that 2200’s! Could have used that extra study time for something else.

anyone else get this message: Cornell University’s Undergraduate Admissions Office does not have an online decision for you at this time. Please refer to the decision letter that you will be receiving in the mail shortly.

help?

Loveandrockets: I got the same message. Wish I had a clue what it meant, though.

ignore this post, it is out of order. CC is being buggy.

same with this one…what the heck…
