Have letters always been sent in the past? Like by mail?
my friends who are also URM and applied didnt get any likely letters. doubt its coming out today.
then again, do they usually send Diversity Hosting emails at 5pm EST?
They are usually sent by email. I guess they could mail home likely letters but that would be a break from tradition. I was super sure the LLs would be emailed out at 5 p.m. eastern today… Maybe tomorrow??
@allima to my understanding, it is usually at 5 pm

maybe no one on this thread got in ? i dont want to think like that though! i mean, i highly doubt it someone would say something if they got the likely letter
in the past its been sent on monday march 14 or sunday march 15. maybe it will be sent tomorrow, the 15th
So do all URM who are getting in normally get likely letters?
@tem339 if they’re exceptional…yes!
@DavidOE What I mean is, if i’m an URM, and don’t get a likely letter, does that mean I’m not getting in? Or are there some URM who get in but do not receive likely letters?
@tem339 Absolutely Not! If you dont get a likely /diversity letter doesnt mean you may not be chosen for admission come Ivy Day. Yes, there are URMs that get in without diversity letters.
Did anyone get an email letter from ASC yesterday?
@DavidOE are you sure about that…because in the past (from CC) it seems as though most URMs get likely letters.
@allima @DavidOE This is college confidential. Many people on this site are like the top 1% and that’s why you see the amount of people with letters that you do. How many times does it have to be stated that a very select few people get likely letters, diversity letters, etc…?
Yes ,URMs get likely letters which have not come out yet according to the posts here. But did anyone get an email from recruitment and retention from the Association for Students of Color (ASC) yesterday? and what does that mean?
@ccola which school within cornell did you apply to?
and @mdchang99 i thought all URMS at cornell will get the early diversity hosting letter
My boy Thomas Jefferson would not approve of a lot of things that have been said in this thread with lack of thought and research. Nevertheless, it is an admissions forum.
"Diversity Hosting is an annual program for select admitted students. Participation in this program is by invitation only. It provides students like you an opportunity to visit Cornell, spend one night on campus, and get a small taste of life as a student here.
This year, Diversity Hosting will be held April 11-27, 2017. It is a one night, limited, travel expense paid program. Come experience first-hand Ezra Cornell’s vision of “Any person…any study” with your potential classmates from across the country. Diversity Hosting promises to be filled with activities and events that will engage and challenge you, and help you start envisioning yourself as an integral part of the Big Red family."
