****Cornell University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

@Melissazaki honestly not sure–they’re both amazing schools. I think it depends on the environment you want? Urban/suburban-rural, for example. tbh I’d probably pick Georgetown, but that’s because I’m super into DC/politics.

Considering Berkeley and Cornell for biological sciences but probably might change major because I thought I was premed but now I’m not so sure… I’ve lived in CA my whole life and am really craving change, but quality of academics is most important to me. Thoughts?

UC Berkeley vs Cornell for Government (Poli-Sci)???

@idekidc Depends on which school you applied to. Last year I was waitlisted for SHA and didnt hear until June 21st that I was given the Transfer Option, which I am currently pursuing

Has anyone managed to get ahold of the financial aid office? They emailed me saying my dad’s W-2 was missing but IDOC says that everything’s submitted

My D got a transfer option for SHA for 2018. What are SHA course and GPA requirements?

Accepted!
Major: physics
ACT:35
GPA: 3.98

Any other physics students?

@cindyf99

I had my w2 and 1040 missing, because I don’t have a job. I got an email on the 31st telling me to update this info. Maybe try emailing the financial aid department or calling someone there.

cornell’s courselogs show that when Ol’ Ezra says “find instruction in any study,” he isn’t bluffing

@kit4kat Yes, over 5700, we don’t know how many accept to stay on it.

Man, were we all trying to get on the Cornell Days site today at 11? Stupid thing kept crashing

I was but honestly I think it was a bigger issue than just a traffic issue. I hope I can get signed up tomorrow. @realperson2990

how do you view financial aid?

@cindyf99 That is the same thing they told us (non-custodial parent’s W-2s were “missing” when they have been on IDOC since early February and used by other colleges. On Friday child wrote back in clear language that they were on IDOC and today received an email saying W-2s had been “received” and we would hear from them in 4-5 days. So my advice is to email with a very clear explanation using the exact date IDOC says the W-2s were uploaded. Good luck!

I think we all have to remember that IDOC, and all technology, isn’t perfect. Considering that thousands of kids are submitting info, something is bound to not get downloaded with the rest of the file. It’s frustrating, but that’s why it is always best to double check with the FA office. My D is a soph at Cornell and our FA/IDOC deadline for current students is May 15. I have all my IDOC docs submitted, but I got an email from FA office last week saying that one of my forms did not download properly and could I please submit it again? All re-submitted type of forms cannot be done thru IDOC though, so you have to submit through a secure upload on Cornell’s FA website. All that being said, I’m glad that they notified me. It becomes easier to re-apply for your aid once you are already a student. Hang in there!
