I am currently applying to Cornell, and I am very confused about which college I should I apply to ED. My interests are Biology AND Business, and I am trying to decide whether I should apply to Human Ecology of Arts and Sciences. My interests and extracurricular activities relate to Business and Medicine. If I do apply to Human Ec Im probably gonna major in Human Biology Health and Society, and try to related Business to Medicine, which I think is very difficult.
Just for your reference, some business related activities that I did were President of FBLA and i am helping to organize the nations largest entrepreneurship competition. Now I haven’t really done much medical stuff other than taking challenging bio and chem courses and an current internship with an orthopedic surgeon. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I guess you can’t have it and eat it… You may want to choose between Business and Biology as a major/school choice, the other as Extracurriculars. Btw, Cornell doesn’t really have a legit business school, the Business stuff is in Hotel Admin if I am not wrong.
You could consider CALS, they have Dyson AEM (business-y) and biology.
There’s also a university-wide business minor that you might consider.
ok thanks for the replies. The issue I’m having is that Human Ec is easier to get into IF you have a clear path of what you want your major to be, and it has to be shown through EC’s. If I do do Human Ec I’m definitely majoring in HBSH, but for the essay I’m not sure how my activities tie into the major. If I do do CAS, I don’t have to related bio and business in my essay, and i can just say that I have two interests. Anyways thanks for your help guys.
