Cornell University Fall 2020 Transfer

Thanks guys!

do anyone knows when the first wave of decisions will be out? and the effect this pandemic will have on our decisions?

last year the first wave was on 4/23 and continued every tuesday after that…but I’m not sure what they’re gonna do this year bc they extended the deadline to 4/10. On one hand, most of us submitted by the 3/15 deadline and they’re definitely not just sitting around not reading applications so there’s a good chance they could release like last year…but on the other hand maybe they’ll wait until way after the new deadline to start releasing

I believe this pandemic won’t affect the dates they start reviewing applications but I am sure they will send the first decisions early may and continue until Mid-June as usual.

April 21 according to admissions

Even better, they are probably reviewing applications that are complete.

Hey guys! I don’t see where on the portal it says SAT/ACT scores. How do you guys know if they were received? I sent my SAT scores via the College Board website a while ago, but I want to make sure Cornell got them

Some schools within Cornell don’t required SAT/ACT so that’s why it’s not in portal, but they probably will see it when they review your application. What school are you applying?

I applied to the college of arts and sciences:)

You actually didn’t need to submit your scores, because you already send them admissions will review it.

@llinrs Thanks! That flight attendant experience will really help! I’m sure that the letter from the VP will be really good too. And that’s cool that you’re applying to UVA. I go to the CC right next to UVA and I spend a lot of time there, so it’s definitely one of my top choices.

Oh okay thanks! Good to know

Hey guys, I read contract colleges (CALS, ILR, HumEc) prioritize CUNY/SUNY applicants, is that true?

I wish all of Cornell’s transfer decisions came out on the same day. It’s gonna suck to wait especially after people already received their app.

Do y’all think it will be released based on when your application was submitted?

I’m not certain that’s true but it wouldn’t surprise me because those schools within Cornell are more related to SUNY. I would hope that’s not how it works but I don’t know how they run things.

@aspiringgirl I feel like the first wave will be definite acceptances (like TOs) and definite rejections, and as more waves come out it will be the AOs having to decide/narrow down the field based on what niche the student will fill or how much space there is left. So you could have submitted the app in January and still get your decision in late June. But that’s just my theory lol

@DrewGonz19 It is true Cornell prioritizes CUNY/SUNY students applying to CALS, ILR, HumEc.

@whatever4ever @aspiringgirl I read on last year’s forum that the decisions were coming out by majors. Students who applied to government last year were the last ones to receive their decisions. I forgot what school and majors were the first ones.

Just realized that I did not get my ApplicantID. About win did you all receive that?

@whatever4ever @Newyorkkidd That makes sense! I thought it was determined by the date you applied because I did not apply until recently (after the extension)
