Cornell University Fall 2020 Transfer

hopefully, it really does seem as though there are a lot fewer applicants. I really wonder how the pool compares to previous years. What does everyone think?

I was looking at last year’s thread and people started becoming active on the thread around April 4th, so I feel like in a few days that’ll happen here too. Also according to last year’s thread the first wave of decisions was April 23. Do you guys think it’ll be much later this year because they changed the application deadline to April 10? (almost a month later than the previous deadline of March 15) I really don’t wanna wait so long…

I really hope not. They may start reviewing applications as they are completed so it may not be pushed back a whole month. Also curious to see if more people come on here in upcoming days!

Oh sup? I am applying to the ILR school as well. I will have 63 credits by May.

Great essay (I believe) proof read by a published author. Great feedback.

Thoughts. Best of luck.

I think you are in great shape. Just believe in yourself and I hope you showed that in you essays. ??

I spoke to the admissions consultant who helped edit some of my essays and she seems to think that the coronavirus might impact transfers admissions since international students might prefer to stay closer to home and others might not be able to return for the foreseeable future. She also felt that some students might just seek more affordable options given the state of the economy at the moment.

I know when I was packing to leave I had multiple friends, professors, and my host family check-in with me to see if I would actually return to the US after everything that’s happening.

@TreGiven your stats and extracurriculars are amazing. It looks like you’ve heavily involved at your current college and left a good impression on faculty there. Good luck!

@ac1999 Are you suggesting the possibility that more transfers will be admitted at schools like Cornell than in years past?

I’ve been thinking that less students applied this year (quietness on forums, students getting application extensions longer than otherwise expected, turnaround times on my rolling apps really short)-- given the state of the world, I wonder if less students applied, and if more will be admitted?

The alternative is far superior: that the world were healthy and our economies were booming, but if there is a golden jewel amongst this chaos for us transfers, I wouldn’t mind that.

For those who submitted their applications already, is anyone else having trouble logging into their CUWebLogin? The page where you can see if your documents are initiated or ordered?

@keepthatsmile hey man where did u get this info? I applied March 15th on common app and at the time, the deadline was still March 15th

@KojouAndYukina if you check common app right now it shows the new deadline as being april 10

Does anyone else get an “Access Denied (403)” website?

Honestly don’t want the decision to be pushed back… got me nervous lol

Does anyone know when decisions came out last year?

Last year it started on Tuesday, April 23 and continued with a new wave every Tuesday after that

Finally got my application checklist. Last one completed. I can rest now and wait for the fruits of my efforts! (or the rejections)

Hey everyone, I am a current freshman at Penn State University and like y’all am applying to Cornell to transfer for fall 2020. Unfortunately, Penn State does not send College Reports electronically since they are not affiliated with Common App. They sent it around March 16th or so, but I think it must have been delivered when Cornell closed its campus as when looking at my checklist, it has not been received yet. I emailed Cornell undergraduate admissions, and they asked me to send them electronically. After repeated emails with the registrar’s office at Penn State, they sent a letter to Cornell detailing why they don’t send them electronically and that they will send it again by mail. Ugh, this is so stupid. I really did everything I was supposed to but life just keeps getting in the way. If any of you have any advice on what I should do, that would really help. Thanks!

I asked admissions and they said they would release decisions on a rolling basis starting on April 21 every week.

My application checklist finally showed up. For some reason they are still awaiting my official college transcripts even though I sent those to common app and all my other common app schools marked them as received. Is it showing that to anyone else?

@DrewGonz19 that makes a lot of sense, it’s following the exact same decisions schedule as last year then.
