Cornell University Fall 2020 Transfer

Any news from CALS??? Seems like nobody from this forum has received anything yet.

WISHING EVERYONE THE BEST OF LUCK, especially during this crazy time. <3 <3 <3
sending love and well wishes for those who are directly impacted by COVID-19.

there is much more to come for everyone, im sure! one school is not a means to an end and im sure u all are super competitve. wishing the best for y’all, accepted or not.

remain positive. who knows? maybe luck will hit y’all!!! <3 <3 <3

Rejected from CAS CS. GPA 3.75, SAT 1510. Lots of ECs. Transferring from a Top 20 college. First rejection since I applied. Good luck everyone! I’m sure you guys will end up a good place, just hang in there!

rejection depression is postponed for yet another week . congrats to those who got in and good luck to everyone! i’m positive everything will be just fine

anxiety leading to depression, thanks cornell

Accepted to CALS for information science. Good luck to everyone

@newyorkrangers2 - CONGRATULATIONS!!! do u mind sharing ur stats, privately or publically?

congratulations to everyone !! Did everyone submit a midterm report ?
I submitted all but one class and I wonder if that could be backing me up

Got my acceptance at 7:05 to college of arts and science in cornell .

Lemme make this fast for y’all :

1360 SAT

4.0 college gpa (but I took a very light course load—no math no science courses; I thought it looked bad because they want some rigor but guess not)( I did take one comp sci into class—python—second semester)

Very good teacher recs

Bad transfer essay; good ‘Why cornell supplement’

3.61 GPA in high school (5 AP classes in junior year and I had 4 unweighted Bs)

I’m ASIAN!!! And a male

Midterm report all As

@axxj12 - TYSM FOR PROVIDING FUTURE TRANSFER STUDENTS UR STATS!

AND CONGRATS!!!

@axxj12 did your portal disappear beforehand?

Some quick stats (copying a template a few comments up):

Accepted to CALS, no transfer option, information science major

1500 SAT

3.7 college gpa (went to large city school, think BU or NYU)

Two professor letter of recs - both of which honestly didn’t know me all that well

I think my essays were really good. Spent a lot of time on them and they were uber-specific to Cornell. If I had to guess, I would say it was what got me in

4.0 GPA in high school (pretty hard course load, also I DID NOT apply to cornell in high school… I feel like this may have been an advantage, as I didn’t have to overcome some barrier of becoming a significantly better candidate in a year)

white male

Midterm report all As, one B+

I’m also from New York State, which idk makes any difference but CALS is a contract college so maybe?

hope this helps. good luck to everyone

@jenniewang7 what’s your EC? did you transfer from cc?

where do you see FA changed to ordered, Did they sent you an email?

Question; has anyone heard back from HumEc? I’m a second time applicant, non-TO and i’m getting really nervous

Rejected from ILR!
If this helps: 4.0 GPA and very strong application (ECs, LORs, and essays)
I have legacy and wrote a very ILR specific essay so honestly who knows!
I was not a transfer guarantee so that may have played against me but its a very random process! I got into both of my safety’s with large scholarships and am waiting for the rest!

For anyone else who got rejected - keep your head high! A rejection doesn’t reflect who you are as a person. We got this!!

My portal did not disappear no. Cornell sends you an email saying there is an update to your application but it’s a link to your portal and then you click status update

Accepted to CALS Biometry and Statistics

Non-TO junior transfer applicant; NYS resident.

3.97 College GPA, 3.23/4.5 HS

One college recommendation

were there any CALS rejections this round?

@ihavethenuts wow. I have never seen nor heard of such a talented applicant. They truly did not make a mistake with you!
