wow this is ridic...no one got deferred!!! CONGRATS CC PEOPLE!!!!

ps - i could not get onto cc until 745 this morning....that says something...

is it possible that people who got deferred or rejected aren't posting yet? i wouldn't be fond of restating bad news right away lol.

but i don't have to because i got in to the hotel school! very happy right now, will post stats later. yay!

Great job guys!!! Congrats!!!

-Another Stanford SCEA-er

**General Comments:
i guess i thought legacy would make up for sat's but i guess not. probably one of the biggest dissapointments of my life. i guess it wasnt meant to be

i know other people got a course catalouge, but i got mine after i found out my decision... why would they send me a huge packet of the courses if they knew i got rejected. i'd give it a .000001% chance that they somehow messed up, but i guess i'll see in the mail today

Deferred CALS... I would have posted yesterday but the site was down all night, for me at least.

Oh well, I'm not too disappointed. I wasn't expecting to get in so I'm pretty happy with a deferral.

Anyway, lately I've been really into the University of Michigan and I only started to realize its benefits over Cornell just before ED decisions. Now that Cornell is no longer a binding agreement I think I may want to go there instead, even if I do get accepted in the spring.

So, most likely, GO BLUE!

never mind

[ color=red][ b]Dear Homey,

In the meantime, we want you to know that we are excited at the prospect of your joining the Cornell community and know that you will make a very positive contribution to the university as a future Cornellian. Please let us know if we can assist you in any way.

Best regards, [ /b][ /color]

[ b]Stats:[ /b][ list]
[ *] SAT: 680 M, 700 V, 730 W
[ *] SAT IIs: 750 Biology, 750 Physics, 740 Math Level 1
[ *] GPA: 4.22 W, 4.0 UW
[ *] Rank: Top 1%
[ *] Other stats: AP Bio: 5, AP US Hist: 5, AP Language/Comp: 4, AP Euro Hist: 4, AP Physics B: 4
[ /list][ b]Subjective:[ /b][ list]
[ *] Essays: My supplemental was only OK...commonapp one REALLY good...great metaphor that really wove the image i wanted to portray together.
[ *] Teacher Recs: Research, English, Bio teachers...prob all super as 2 of them worked with me out of school in clubs/competitions...known all of them for multiple years, good relations, been through a LOT of good/sort of bad with them.
[ *] Counselor Rec: meh...average. she thinks im some sort of genius but GCs think everyone with half a brain is...
[ *] Hook (if any): EC's that fit the major I applied to. Strong research/science background, also strong bg in putting my research to work, very fitting of major.
[ /list][ b]Location/Person:[ /b][ list]
[ *] State or Country: Long Island, NY...prob one of the worst places to be for CALS admission.
[ *] School Type: Public...3 of us got in this year...but one was athletic and the other a legacy...we usually just send 1 or 2.
[ *] Ethnicity: White as can be.
[ *] Gender: Got a Y
[ /list][ b]Other Factors: VERY good fit for my major...I emphasize this cause it was the only thing that set me apart from any one else. I emphasized that by sending a resume...encourage u juniors lookin at this to do the same.[ /b]
[ b]General Comments: Very glad I don't have to write any more apps...this is the only one I wrote...so now I can sayt I only applied to 1 school...lol. Also gotta say I have faith in Cornell's hollistic, "scores aren't everything" system. I was NOT a legacy, NOT a URM, NOT an athlete...simply a smart person who had a passion for what the area I applied for was. To those who join me: Cya'll at CALS next year. To those who won't: Its aight...everyone ends up happy wherever they go. It just happens that way. If you think you're in a rut, remember why you do what you do in the first place. Remember what you still have. And remember that there are many who do not have what you have. For you 11th graders: I made this message thorough for you...I kno what a pain in the @ss this time is. But don't lose track of why you do what you do. For getting in, if you want the fruit, take sure you fit if you're applying...I'm convinced thats the key in. For even younger people: get off this website and do what you like for the RIGHT reasons. this place is worse than xxx for you youngens.[ /b]

can someone say how you post on this thing?
