I think that Cornell CAS really looks for people who fit their school, and I just had that gut feeling that with the personality I evinced in my essays, they would know I was a match for them. I'm not a generic, stereotypical high scorer who does as many extracurriculars as possible to get in to college (I know some like this) - I did everything in high school because I enjoy it, and I think Cornell saw that, and that's what sets me apart
General Comments: I'm speechless for the most part. The feeling walking into school today was great - news of acceptance spread like wildfire, everyone congratulating me, people bringing in food. I'm really glad it's all over, and now I can flush all of my other applications down the virtual toilet. Congrats to all who got in, and if you didn't get in, you're too good for Cornell anyway and if you got deferred, just don't lose hope - and if you're a 2012 applicant looking at all of these posts while anxiously waiting for your decision look I did, just realize that if you feel that Cornell was a match and you demonstrated it, you'll be fine. Hell yeah!</p>
