Cornell University SHA Chances?

Hi! I am really hoping to get into Cornell’s SHA. I recently submitted my application, but I would like to see what people think about my chances. Thank you for taking the time to help me!

ACT: 31, Writing: 10 (it’s a little low, I would like to take it again, but does Cornell accept February scores?)
GPA (out of 4.0): 3.96 weighted (it’s also a little low but it doesn’t include my senior 1st semester grades, it’ll rise soon)

Senior Year Course Load:
Spanish V AP
Biology AP
English Literature AP
Government and Politics AP
Probability and Statistics AP
Art History H
School Newspaper

Other APs:

Job/Work Experience: Receptionist at a local hotel

Essays: I thought my supplement was decent - I talked about hospitality and business in my childhood and in the present (it was a cute childhood story), how my classes, extracurriculars, and job are hospitality and business based

School Type: Private
Ethnicity: Asian American
Gender: Female

Although I don’t have that much experience in the hospitality industry as other applicants, I was hoping my extracurriculars would show that I’m actually interested in SHA, not just Cornell.

Given this information, I was hoping to receive some feedback with regard to my chances of being admitted to SHA and any advice you have to offer to help increase these chances.

Thank you so much!

Hey @Bubbles227, your SAT and GPA are both within the range but with SHA, it really does come down to experience and “fit”. Besides being a receptionist at a hotel, I really do not see anything else that qualifies as Hospitality related Ec’s. The school really looks for that, whether it is at a real estate company, restaurant, or even a hospital. But best of luck to you!

Chance me for SHA too if you have time?
