Cornell University v. Dartmouth v. Johns Hopkins (BME program) v. UC Berkeley

I'm having a hard time deciding. Location is not a factor. I'm thinking of maybe going into Pre-Med, but not 100% sure (I also have interests in liberal arts). Thinking of also possibly going to ivy league later for (HYP…) a graduate experience. Which one has the best academics/sets me up best?

Hands down John Hopkins has the best Biomed program out of all of them

Johns Hopkins = best pre med

I would eliminate Berkeley from your list.

What liberal arts are you interested in?

Perhaps. But everyone knows it with certainty; thus, it is the most competitive.

Definitely Hopkins for BME, but any “E” pretty much eliminates the opportunity to dabble in the liberal arts. “E” just doesn’t allow much time for electives in any college.

Personally, I’d go with Dartmouth for someone also interested in liberal arts. Sure Hopkins and Cornell have outstanding liberal arts too, but with the absence of a lot of grad programs Dartmouth is undergrad-focused.

But any of the privates will prepare you well for med apps. Choose the environment where you’d rather live for four years instead.

Thank you all for your help! I appreciate your thoughtful responses. I am reluctant is because I think I may lean more towards pre-med than engineering and I see that the core requirements of that program require around 29 engineering credits. Plus, not all students are allowed to apply to medical school!. In terms of liberal arts, I suppose creative writing is an interest (actually, I may decide to just shelve that as a hobby…)
