Cornell University

I was accepted to Cornell University for their School of Hotel Administration. I was very excited about this because it is the best program in the entire nation and arguably the world. I was flown into the school as part of the Diversity hosting program for admitted students last weekend. The school was amazing. The hotel school is unreal. I finally found a small place in this world where I feel like I fit in through a sharing of passions, desires and goals. In my letter of admission, I was also allowed to participate in the pre-freshmen summer program (PSP) before the fall semester of 2015. Through my financial situation, my tuition would have been covered in full.
On the last day of my visit, I spoke with the financial aid office because they were missing some documents. I have everything completed for my financial aid to kick in except for one thing: my permanent residency card. Why don't I have one? That is a good question that I ask myself daily and keeps me up at night. My father is a naturalised US citizen and has filed for me to automatically obtain my permanent residency, and later my citizenship, back in June of 2014. I explained this to the financial Aid office and they told me that I would need to show proof of the card before the 1st of May or I will not be allowed to attend PSP and will not qualify for any aid in the Fall.
So desperately I called the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services begging them to see if there's anything they could do to get it to me before the 1st of May but they told me that they are currently processing everything from May of 2014. I filed my case in June of 2014. I am currently in the hopes that they could oversee the 1st of May deadline seeing that I am so close to obtaining my residency card.

Is anyone familiar with a case like mine? It’s extremely difficult to realise that you worked so hard to obtain the opportunities this university has to offer and then not be able to go because of the Bureaucracy. If anyone knows of any similar cases or anyone that is currently attending Cornell and knows of someone that can help please let me know.

Thank you guys in advance

Can you defer admission for a year if necessary?
