Hey everyone!

Ive been pretty active on the CC forums and Ive gone through a lot of ups and downs over the past year but Im very glad to be attending Cornell Universitys Weill Medical College in Qatar. I know a lot of people either dont know about this college or are misinformed about it. Id really like to see a lot of CCers apply here (like Jacobs) so Ill tell you some information about their accelerated 6 year medical program.

Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMCQ) offers 2 years of undergraduate premed followed by a full 4 year MD program. You get the same MD Degree as the students in NYC.

Although you wont get a degree for the 2 year premed program, you get cornell university credits that are fully transferrable to many colleges in the United States, including cornell universitys Ithaca campus.

If you get selected for their summer research program, you will spend the summer in new York city or ithica working with some of the best research in the world. Positions are far less competitive to receive when compared to the main campus.

Almost the entire faculty has taught at the main campus at some point and the ENTIRE faculty has been recruited from the main campus.

Facilities are top notch the same, if not better than the main campus. The campus is amazing. The lecture halls are breathtaking and anyone who has visited both the US and Qatar campuses can tell you that the lecture halls in Qatar are way better. They are also building an $8billion dollar endowment specialty teaching hospital right next to the campus.

WCMCQ is part of Education city a 2500 acre compound that includes branch campuses of some of the leading universities in the world such as Carnegie Mellon (business and Computer science), Texas A&M ( engineering), Georgetown (foreign service), Northwestern (communications + journalism starting 2008 I think) & Virginia Commonwealth University (Art & Design).

Most importantly all universities in Education City are NEED BLIND. You need to apply to the Qatar Foundation for financial aid.
