for all the universities I intend to put down my major as Bus. Economics/Finance

UC Irvine
UC Davis
UCSD
UCLA
UC Berk
Georgetown(Mcdonough school of business) EARLY APP
JHU(Econ)
USC(Marshall school of business)
Cornell (AEM)
University of Chicago (economics) EARLY APP
Carnegie Mellon Econ (Tepper + HSS)

I am also debating on applying to Northwestern but i am not sure if that would just be a waste of an application fee due to my low chances

if you could give me an "in/out" or "reach/match/safety" rating I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

Wow that gives me a lot of hope. I would have thought that Cornell, Chicago and JHU at the very least were out of my reach. Any one else concur/disagree?

I wouldn’t list all of those awards/ECs on the app. Only put the most recognizable and those which you spent the most time with… Otherwise, I would concur with soze however in addition to Gtown, Cornell could be a toss up as well. best of luck

None are out of reach but some are definately more difficult.
Cornell isn’t out of your reach but they tend to look for something special more than good grades so try to clearly let them identify ur hook.

If my SAT score was only the 2170 (not superscored) how would my chances be then? Would anyone suggest me taking the SAT one last time and (hopefully) getting around a 2250? Anyone else willing to chance me ? thanks for all the help so far

Keep in mind that Georgetown only looks at the Math and Reading sections of your SAT, and they put more weight on an applicant’s GPA than most other schools.

That said, I can pretty much only echo the sentiments of every other poster in this thread. Cornell is a reach, everything else isnt.

I’d say that you’re in at at lease some of these difficult schools. Great academics, solid involvement with drama, AMAZING performance in business, plus sports makes you a very good candidate to all of these schools. You’re definetly a leader, too.

Match: All California schools since, judging by the Bay Area stuff, you’re a resident.
High match/low reach: All the rest. You’ll probably get into some and not others, but I wouldn’t be suprised if most accepted you.

Admissions can be unpredictable, remember that!

Out of the following four universities and early programs, which one do you think i have the highest probability of getting into and which one would you recommend me applying to?

Washington St. Louis ED
Cornell ED
JHU ED
U Chicago EA
(all of these would be for economics but cornell is AEM)

Probably in at: CMU USC SD Irvine Davis
Probably rejected at : the rest

Your gpa+sat combo is too low for the UCs and chicago’s acceptance rates will be a lot tighter than years past due to increase in applicants. Cornell Georgetown and JHU are simply looking for numbers you just dont have…
