Cornell v/s GaTech -- Please Help!!

<p>Hi Guys, </p>

<p>I have to decide btw M.Eng from Cornell and MS from GaTech in ECE Dept(Haven't got any aid as of now from both the places). </p>

<p>My profile is as follows: </p>

<p>NAME : Manu Jain
GPA : 3.40 /4.00 (Overall)
: 3.67 /4.00 (Last 60 credits)
RANK : 10th out of 120 students
GRE : 1440 (V=640 Q=800 AWA= 4.0)
TOEFL : 297 (Computer Based) </p>

<p>Currently working in TCS,Mumbai (INDIA) since Sept'05 for client GE Corporate. </p>

<p>TECHNICAL PAPERS (at National Level):
1) Resolution enhancement techniques employed in the field of Optical Lithography
2) Impacts of simulated Raman scattering and four wave mixing in optical fiber communication systems </p>

<p>PROJECTS / TRAININGS:
1) MATLAB programming for Viterbi Algorithm (Internal Project)
2) Increasing the First Pass Yield in the manufacture of HV Capacitors and automation & control of the autoclave plant (ABB India Ltd)
3) Connectivity and Networking of mobile switching centers using radio links from MUX to MSC and then RJ-45 from radio to interface converters (Hutchinson Telecom Ltd) </p>

<p>The results so far are:
Admits:
1) GaTech
2) Cornell (M.Eng.)
3) ASU
4) TUHH - Germany </p>

<p>Rejects:
1) UIUC
2) Purdue
3) TAMU
4) NCSU </p>

<p>Waiting for UMCP and UFL. </p>

<p>Please help in choosing btw Cornell and GaTech.. </p>

<p>I think you would like the M.Eng. at Cornell. Both excellent grad programs, but I would advise Cornell. I think Cornell has a nicer environment, unless you like big cities.</p>

<p>Are we thinking of the same Cornell and GT? You got into those two but not into Purdue, TAMU or NCSU? That is very unusual. </p>

<p>At any rate, between Cornell and GT, assuming cost of attendence isn't an issue, I would recommend Cornell.</p>

<p>ya..actually even i was surprised by NCSU's and TAMU's reject..
and Purdue was always my fav.. was really sad for not being able to make it there ..</p>

<p>Graduate school admissions are obviously very different from undergraduate admissions, so one never knows really.</p>
