Cornell vs. Brown for comp sci

I was wondering which of the two schools would be the best bet for a kid who's really interested in computer science. I know that Cornell is higher in the rankings, but does it necessarily mean better job opportunities and better faculty? This is important since I'm not interested in grad school and would like to work at a software company like Microsoft.

I think it will be generally acknowledged that Cornell is significantly better for comp sci in all respects.

^ What he said.

you should ask this question in the Brown forum as well. obviously answers in this forum will be biased.

Brown is good for applied math and computer science. Cornell generally has better industry connections, however, and a much deeper pool of alumni in the field.

first get into both schools then decide. getting into Brown is nearly impossible nowadays and getting into Cornell comp sci is no joke either.

Both are equally good in terms of ‘brand perception’. However, if one is interested in enjoying the academic freedom without compromising on the quality of the education, in my opinion, Brown stands out!

I think Cornell is rather well regarded for having one of the best Computer Science programs in the country.
