Which university, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, or Johns Hopkins, will have the hardest engineering program? Also, which one has the hardest bio program? This is for undergrad major btw. If you could rank them 1, 2, and 3 that would be very helpful...Thanks.

Cornell would definitely have the hardest engineering program, and arguably the best. I know I'm going to get counterarguments though...
I would say following cornell is JHU and then CMU for difficulty. I believe the programs will rank in a similar order.

For bio, I would say that in terms of difficulty, Cornell and JHU would be tied for the hardest. Cornell is generally known to be a very difficult ivy...the kids really work there. But JHU's bio program, especially for premeds, I would imagine is extremely competitive due to the good med school there. CMU would probably be easiest for bio.
I also believe that in terms of the rank of the programs, Cornell and JHU are about even as the better ones, CMU not far behind.

Between Cornell and JHU I would say you can't go wrong. One is an Ivy, the other attached to a top med school (though Cornell's Weill med school ranks in top 10 or so, i believe). Cornell and JHU both have great eng. programs. BOth are great for premed and bio.

CMU might also be good in these fields, and I would imagine it is a little more engineering oriented than bio oriented. But I don't kno very much about CMU...

cornell for general engineering, carnegie for comp sci eng, jhu for bio or bioeng

I think Cornell and Carnegie Mellon have strong engineering programs (JHU less so) while JHU probably has the best bio program (#1 in Biomedical Engineering and a #1 or 2 med school).
