Congrats. I'm obviously biased, but you made the right choice. You will make a fine Cornell Engineer.

Regardless of school, engineering students work hard. That is why Cornell is a better choice than Columbia. At Cornell, you will have lots of company when studying. The engineering school at Cornell is, I believe, the third largest undergraduate school with about 2700 students. Not sure of the figures at Columbia, but I do know that the Columbia engineering school makes up a much smaller percentage of their student body.

so you made a great choice.

Battlecruiser - based on what you wrote, I think you made the right decision for Cornell. Getting out of the NYC energy might be nicer than you think.

Good luck.

Yep. I visited a few weeks ago and Cornell looks like the right place for me. Good decision Elec. I guess we're fellow classmates now.

Hey Guys, I am trying to make the same choice for Comp sci. any help??

Bill and Melinda Gates gave $25 million to Cornell towards the new Gates Computer/Information Science building. Look on the website - it’s beautiful and should be open by the end of the year. Gates chose Cornell bc so many of his employees who have made solid contributions to his company have come from Cornell. My S tells me that computer science majors start getting contacts for employment during their sophomore year. You cannot beat that. Cornell has the much better engineering reputation - plus 4000 classes from which to choose every semester.
