Cornell vs Georgia Tech

I am trying to decide between the two for undergraduate Fall 12. Which school would you recommend for a ME/AE engineering student? I like engineering but would not be opposed to the business side of engineering. Which school do you believe offers better opportunities in general? Thanks.

BOTH!!! We look at both for our S. He is a freshman at Cornell. GT is amazing - their facilities are tops and they rank so highly in the country. Their business school is up and coming. Look at Industrial Engineering there (#1 in the country). That program has lots of classes at the business school. I bet they have an engineering management or industrial engineering or business minor if you do ME.

Cornell’s answer to that is Operations Research. It is also a combination of business and mathematical applications. At Cornell, an ME major can minor in OR.

Both are FABULOUS!!! If you are a Georgia resident, seems GT would be hard to beat. If money if no problem, I subjectively have to say Cornell. My S loves the diversity and exposure to so many other types of classes on campus - from animal science to wine tasting. Atlanta is different than Ithaca. Only you will be able to figure out what works for you. My S’s best friend from high school is at GT. he loves it.
