Cornell vs. Harvard

Rankings Smankings...

forget USNWR rankings... tonight it'll be settled on the hockey rink.

For the third time in four years, it's Cornell vs. Harvard, for the ECACHL tournament championship. Then its on to the NCAA tourney...

If Cornell wins, they could snatch a #1 seed in the bracket...

GO BIG RED!

Wharf

PS - lets see some cheers (I mean posts) and we'll get the count up.

ALL THE WAY, CORNELL!!!

slaps on red war paint

(nicely done leigh787)

As dorky as this sounds, I'm in Albany at a hotel right now waiting for my roommates to get up to head to pepsi arena. The Cornell game was great but the Harvard v Colgate was even better. Harvard went into 2 OTs and it ended at midnight, so they'll be too tired to play well tonight. Go Big Red!

Shizz,

So glad you there. Brings back many memories from the early 80's. Be sure to post your impressions from the championship game here on this thread.

Wharf

If we play the way we did last night, Harvard won't have a chance.

**** 'em up, **** 'em up, Go CU!

As I remember it Cornell has been dominating hockey in recent years. Not much of a rivalry.

Actually, Cornell played pretty disappointingly last night. They were outplayed by Vermont in the first half of the game and gave up 13 shots in the first period (and were outshot in the entire game). The puck handling was absolutely atrocious. I think if they play the same way they did last night against Harvad, they will lose. That said, I fully expect them to come out more prepared tonight.

Could be the year that the Big Red goes to the frozen four.

As i said before... sweeeeeeeeeeeet

may it be a wake up call for them. :o

Cornell didn't play disappointingly against Vermont. Their first period was bad because they seemed nervous, but then again we usually have a bad start it seems. From the second period on, they played alright. After all a win is a win. Vermont was hitting harder and they had a lot of good chances but McKee was just too good.

The Harvard game was great. We didn't get tickets in the Cornell section bc they sold out so we actually ended up in the harvard section (or whatever was supposed to be the harvard section). We ended up right behind some really belligerent harvard fans and almost got in a drunken scuffle with them. There were some open seats in our section so we "snuck" in there for the 2nd and 3rd periods.

It was a pretty even start, but Harvard scored a PP goal at the end of the first period that was a pretty big downer. But once the 2nd period began, it was no contest. Cornell really ramped it up and scored two goals that period, and scored a 3rd one in the final period. The game was pretty wild and the Cornell contingency was simply phenomenal. Even though I'm going to be graduating this year I intend on coming up for at least a couple games. Lynah is amazing.

Love the first hand account.... and yes there is nothing quite like the Lynah faithful...
