Cornell vs Michigan for Aerospace engineering

I posted this on the parents thread a couple weeks ago.

S is now narrowing his major down from Mechanical/Aeorspace to Aeorspace engineering. He is concerned that Cornell only has a minor in aerospace and not a major. Currently leaning toward University of Michigan for this reason. Loved both schools on first visit - will be going to Michigan for a return visit this week. Went to Cornell last weekend, but this issue came up later, so we didn't get to talk to someone there about the Aerospcae concern.

Any thoughts?

I really don’t know anything about UMich, but I have a friend who majored in mechanical/aerospace engineering at Cornell as an undergrad and is now working on his masters in aerospace engineering here at Cornell, so I can’t see how coming to Cornell would be much of a problem. Again, though, I have no background in UMich and am not an engineer, so I’m no authoritative figure.
