Cornell vs Penn HELP!

I'm having a lot of trouble deciding which school to apply early decision.

In short, I have a 33 ACT (35 R, 35 E, 34 M, 28 S/12 Essay); Math I 750 and 3.67 UW GPA (3.85 without Freshman year. I did very poorly Freshman year due to family issues and plan to explain that).

I'm deciding between Cornell AEM, UPenn CAS, and UPenn Wharton. (I'm aware they are all reaches but that's what I want to use my ED for).

I like UPenn SLIGHTLY more but feel like Wharton is just a complete waste (and I'm kind of scared how hard it must be), meanwhile I don't think I really want to be in a college of arts and science. Business is what I want; however, I may be happy in CAS. I'm really not sure. On the other hand, I'm under the impression that Cornell AEM is basically as hard to get into as Wharton which is how I get back to penn CAS. (or is it?)

I have legacy at Cornell and a sibling who attended grad. school at Penn (not sure if that helps). HELP!

Taking what you write at face value (i.e., you prefer Penn to Cornell, but feel that Wharton is a far reach, and probably not worth applying ED).

Let me ask you a question – let’s say you apply ED to Cornell and get in? Will you always kick yourself and wonder whether you could have gotten into Penn? If so, my advice, even in a Cornell forum, is don’t apply to Cornell ED.

But let’s say Cornell is still in the running:

Cornell AEM – Others will chime in, my impression is that it’s hard, but not as hard as Wharton.

Cornell – Legacy helps. Don’t know Penn’s Legacy Policy.

Final question – are you a NYS resident (i.e., can you get the in-state tuition for AES). If so, and Cornell is an option, perhaps that’s the tipping point question.
