cornell vs. rutgers

ok heres the deal.
i was offered a full scholarship to rutgers for engineering.
i was accepted to cornell engineering but have to pay 35G a year, which idk how they came up with that number but i guess thats that.
i like cornell alot more than rutgers in terms of atmosphere but thats not my primary concern.

my question is how big of a difference does it make for career and job opportunities and salary when im finished school to go to cornell over rutgers or rutgers over cornell?
i plan on working really hard in either school and my mom is telling me not to worry about it and go to cornell even though i hear her crying at night cause it is going to put her and me in some pretty heavy debt.
does it really matter which school i go to?

Did you do Cornell ED? I suppose you may have to back out because of Financial problems then?

You could always ask the school to increase your merit aid (which I'm assuming you got some or you live really close to Ithaca and thus not pay for room/board) It never hurts to ask. Just explain your situation to them, and they may listen. After all...they are human beings...

You can also...defer admission for 1~2 years and work I suppose...

A Cornell Engineering degree helps to get interviews in good companies I believe...and recruiters may prefer Cornell over Rutgers. This will greatly depend on your GPA as well (something very important in engineering).

I hope everything works out for you.
