I have talked about my technical background and circumstances due to which there are not many ecs in my high school in the additional information section.
All my essays for different universities were liked/loved by everyone I showed it to.
I would rate it anywhere between 9 and 10 (out of 10)

My dream school is Berkeley for L&S CS. I’ll be applying there. I also have Cornell app ready to send for Early Decision. It’ll be amazing if I get into Cornell by a decision in December but if I have a good chance at Berkeley, I don’t wanna send ED.

I’m sending ED to Cornell instead of RD assuming it’ll be easier. Is that so? I would also like to know the differences between the two univs in terms of opportunities. Placements look great for Cornell as well. But I would love to get a better idea on this issue.

Please help out! Deadline coming soon! Thanks!

Bumppp!

I wouldn’t apply to Cornell ED if your dream school is Berkeley. You may have regrets. ED should be reserved for your absolute first choice. That’s my opinion.

I agree; if your dream school is Berkeley then apply there ED. I would say your chances of getting accepted to either are about the same and would be a crapshoot both ways, so you might as well use ED as it was intended and apply for your top choice.

There is no ED for the UCs (Berkeley), otherwise I’m pretty sure OP would do that.

Don’t do ED if you don’t want to commit. This is pretty serious.
I don’t know Berkley CS but I can tell you that Cornell CS has been great so far for my child. He seems to enjoy the folks there and says labs are superb and open 24 hours. I am sure Berkley has fab stuff too.
Look for options within CS - what do you want to do? and check if for that option, that school offers any specific opportunities. That may be better way to narrow it down. (or overkill  )
Good luck in your search!

@Ranza123 @cd2015 @Renomamma Thank you all for your advice! Well, I have planned to not apply ED to Cornell. Although both are equal, Cornell is pretty damn expensive. 70K per year will be a big burden. UCB is 55-60. Anyway, it will be better to have options in hand, thats why I’m applying to no binding program!
