Cornell vs. UCLA for social sciences

I’m interested in majoring either in Econ or Poli Sci with a minor in CS. My top choices right now are Cornell and UCLA. Reputation-wise most people would say Cornell, but I know that much of Cornell’s prestige comes from their science departments, and not necessarily from the social sciences. It’s also far from home (CA) and more expensive. Cornell does tend to be more flexible about combining fields-- something that I find attractive. Is either school significantly superior when it comes to the social sciences? Will an Ivy vs non-ivy make a big difference in career prospects for grads with social science degrees?

P.S. I realize that posting this within the Cornell forum will possibly result in “Cornell-biased” answers. I’m taking that into account, but it’s an advantage because I already know lots more about UCLA than I do about Cornell. Honesty is appreciated.
