The title is self-explanatory, so I'll just give you a little background. I'm deciding between these for electrical and computer engineering, but that's a tentative major; I'm also looking at physics and business (the latter only as a second major to supplement an engineering degree). I've essentially scratched Penn and WashU off my list (feel free to defend them if you want - maybe you'll change my mind!), and these three remain. Well, I'm still waitlisted at Cornell, but I can be hopeful and give it equal consideration as long as I'm not rejected. Also, I'm an Illinois resident, but the cheap tuition doesn't make much of a difference to me.

That said, what do you all think? I'd appreciate anything you can add to all the reasons already bouncing back and forth in my mind.

id go to carnegie mellon over uiuc since that is your option right now.

keep in mind that at penn you can take classes at wharton, the best undergrad business school in the US.

I have friends at Penn who LOVE it there, did you knock it off because it doesn't have a particularly strong engineering program?

I'd say CMU or Cornell because both have amazing engineering programs and CMU is just a high roller for those programs.
I have a friend who was rejected from penn engineering who is now at CMU, and he really likes it there even though the workload is tough and heavy.

Well, I was shooting for M&T, but that didn't come through, so I was only admitted to SEAS. Taking classes at Wharton is nice, but I can't get a degree from there. The other schools offer much more flexibility with double majoring or minoring. At Penn, it seems I could only do that within the SEAS, and if I'm going to double in engineering, I'd rather do it at a place like the three above.
