Congratulations! To help, people here need to know more information. Outside her intended study areas, what factors does she need to be happy and successful at college?

I may be a bit partial as d went to Cornell. As she did a study abroad semester, I can tell you that Cornell is very encouraging Re: study abroad programs. They link up study abroad programs from many different schools and programs on their website.

The only thing is- you do need to get permission from the study abroad advisor at the school your kid is affiliated with. As my kid was in ILR, she needed approval from the ILR study abroad advisor- as they need to see that the coursework will supplement the cornell curriculum.
Their study abroad website has changed since we relied on it a few years ago to get the info, but they do have a listing of approved study abroad options by majors
i.e Options for pre-med and public health.
the study abroad websyte is www.cuabroad.cornell.edu

My kid loved UVA too, but her choice was easy- she didn’t get into UVA.
my gut tells me Cornell may be stronger in the sciences and global health- but you can’t go wrong with either school.
other factors to consider is tuition- are you a Va or NY resident??
I know tuition costs would be a factor for my family.
Your d has wonderful choices- good luck to her

not a ny or va resident:( Can anyone comment on environmental sciences at cornell?

giggles- I suggest you go on the cornell site on cc. You have alot of upperclassmen as well as alum who post. If you want specific info about programs and curriculum-- was your d accepted to CALS or is she planning to study biological sciences through Human Ec school or Arts and Sciences???
There may be some differences in the course of study depending on which college at Cornell she was accepted to-

D was accepted to CALS, I will also check the cornell site.
