Cornell Waitlist Class of 2023

I received a call from the College of Human Ecology on Thursday (May 23) with the offer of admission from the wait list. Very thrilled. No scholarship or financial aid though.

Did anyone hear back from engineering???

i’ve already sent in email and letter of continued interest… i know most descisions have prob been made, but would anyone deem it worth it to send our a final email expressing my interest to my rep?

@Fall2019App congrats! what ways/ how many times did u express interest since being waitlisted? if youre comfy saying

@qwxmntklp I expressed interest only once - soon after getting the wait list notification on Ivy Day. They had specifically asked not to bug them - so we didn’t dare send another letter:-)

“As of Wednesday, May 29 we have closed our waitlist and will not be making any additional offers of admission. Applicants on the waitlist will receive official notification shortly” – Cornell Engineering Waitlisted page

Any news from Dyson?

Any news from CAS ?

Does anyone have any idea if/when we’ll hear about transfers? I said that I would like to be considered for one on my application for CALS, and since I haven’t heard anything I’m thinking it’s my only hope

Rejected from engineering. Did anyone’s rejection email say something about transferring after 2 years?

humec via email two days ago said their waitlist has not been finalized yet

Anyone hear from CALS?

Just got an email saying that their waitlist is now officially closed.

@peach0v0 from CALS? I never got anything saying it’s closed

I applied to CAS

Accepted ILR TO today! Anyone else hear back from ILR for TO?

@teddy10143 I heard nothing back from them also. I visited CALS last week and asked one of the front desk people and she said that she doesn’t know when the final decision will be out.

Just got an official email from Cornell that I did not get off the waitlist for CALS. Committed to Northwestern so at least I’m going to a college that loves me back. Good luck everyone !!

@loveyou3000 Northwestern is an incredible school, congrats!!

could you copy the email here? Did they say that the waitlist is closed?

@teddy10143
Thank you for your kind words ! :))
Here was the email:

Earlier this spring, you asked us to keep your name on our wait list in case we were able to make any more offers of admission for the 2019 fall semester. We now have a clear picture of the number of students who will be enrolling in the fall and, unfortunately, we will not have a place in the class to offer you.

We appreciate your interest in Cornell and your patience while you were on the wait list. You are a student who has much to contribute to a college community. We are confident that you have other fine opportunities for undergraduate education and know you will thrive wherever you enroll.

If, after a successful year or two elsewhere, you continue to believe that Cornell may be the right school for you, we hope you will consider applying to transfer here. Cornell enrolls between 600-700 transfer students each year, and you will find information for transfer applicants on our website: admissions.cornell.edu.

In the meantime, my very best wishes for every success as you continue your education.

Sincerely,

Shawn L. Felton
Director of Undergraduate Admissions
