Apparently there’s a Facebook group for the transfer options? Does anyone know what it’s called because I don’t want to join the wrong thing lol
how did you guys know you got the transfer option? My email said something about transferring but I don’t know if I got the same option about you guys.
@nigeluno
Here is the email you should’ve gotten if you got the TO. Also the title for the email should explicitly say transfer option Cornell CALS:
Dear [name],
Earlier this spring, you asked us to keep your name on our waiting list in case we were able to make additional offers of admission for the 2019-20 Academic Year. Unfortunately, we will not have a place in the class to offer you at this time.
However, the admissions committee recognizes your academic talent and potential for success at Cornell and would like to extend to you an opportunity to pursue our Transfer Option (TO) for the [whatever thing you chose on your common app] major at CALS as a sophomore in the fall of 2020, after successfully completing one year of study at another college or university.
Although this is not a guarantee of admission, we look forward to working with you on this path to transfer. Should you decide that you would like to pursue a TO to CALS, you must submit the TO Form (link below) by June 25, 2019.
We understand that you may have additional questions about this opportunity and we encourage you to visit our Transfer Option webpage at the link provided below for more information.
Sincerely,
The CALS Admissions Team
@returner04 really?!?! I want to know also because I’m so lost about the TO after sifting through all the info on their TO page. Also, would you guys be interested in making a GroupMe @teddy10143 @Calistudent2023 @returner04 and possibly other CALS TO acceptee??

I got a TO offer for Human Ecology.
Can someone explain how the transfer option works?
"Thank you for your application to the College of Human Ecology. I am writing to report that maintaining the College of Human Ecology’s waitlist is no longer necessary. In recognition of your talent and potential, we would like to encourage you to consider applying for transfer admission in the future. This Transfer Option (TO) is offered to a select group of candidates we believe will take best advantage of a Human Ecology education.
Carefully review our Transfer Option information for details about Transfer Option planning. You will need the email address and zip code you provided on your freshman application to log onto the site. NOTE: No further action is needed at this time to indicate interest in being considered a Transfer Option candidate. You may decline this Transfer Option at any time.
This offer is available for two years. Candidates who successfully complete all required courses have applied and have been competitive for transfer admission for their sophomore year; others prepare to transfer for their junior year.
Congratulations on your Transfer Option offer to the College of Human Ecology! We are excited to work with you as a prospective transfer candidate and hope you will take advantage of this special opportunity.
Please accept our best wishes for your time ahead."
Got TO from HumEc

For TO kids? I’d honestly be down… for just CALS/ by school or for all TO? @envhafha
@CrayonShinChan I found the Facebook group too! The group me link didn’t work but that could be my fault lol. It’s called Cornell University Class of 2023: Transfer Option if you guys are still interested. I think there’s like 20 people in it (I just joined ?)
got the TO for CALS! already committed to berkeley (i’m in state) so we’ll see how i like it and maybe i’ll see some of you at cornell in 2020!
just got a TO from Dyson School! if there are any group chats of any sort for the TO people, I’d love to be included as I don’t know a lot about this whole process.
Hi I am on the waitlist for ILR this year and I’d really appreciate it if you could give me some tips or recommendations on how you got off the WL!
Hey I am really sorry to hear this happened to you, but just so you know I am in the same boat this year. If you don’t mind me asking, did you eventually get off the waitlist? I already sent in alot of additional info when I got deferred and I am debating whether or not I should continue after getting WL.
