I asked CAS if this round of taking off waitlist is done. They replied : Weāre not sure when the students will hear about their decisions again, as they are going out sporadically.
Here is my theory for CAS. The admissions team is no longer together due to the virus. Therefore, they are unable to work together to send a typical āwaveā of waitlist acceptances. Since each admissions officer is isolated. They just send out acceptances whenever they feel like it. It may be regional, as several from Connecticut were admitted.
@hpwang1014 said CAS waitlist decisions are going out sporadically. This is probably because each admissions officer is just doing their own thing in the wake of the pandemic situation.
This combined with the email response I received that we were ādefinitelyā still being considered, enforces my point.
I doubt they would send us all the ātop of listā email if they werenāt seriously considering us favorably. It would just make no sense for them to include that information. So stay peachy, guys. I anticipate good news.
hey guys iāve been following this thread for weeks now but was always too lazy to actually make an account lol. but i was waitlisted at Dyson and it was really upsetting to hear that they only had 5 spots remaining yesterday, as i still have yet to hear back from them. i might just have to call it quits but i was also waitlisted at nyu stern so iām still keeping my hopes up for that!
@benandjerrys101 iām also committed to university of michigan! wouldāve loved to attend cornell tho @billyof123 iām committed to umich but i know someone going to northeastern haha
@inatlus33 I have also been following this thread for a while and I am also waitlisted at Dyson. Since there is only 5 spots, I think it is pretty much over sadly. Were you offered Transfer Option? And I think NYU Stern has already contacted people today, few of my friends got off the waitlist today. Good luck though. I really just want to get into Dyson freshman year instead of later.
@RoaringLion nope i wasnāt offered a transfer option. and yeah iāve been reading this and the nyu threads religiously lol but iām still trying to stay optimistic that at least stern will have more waves
@gwang968 Your theory sounds so good and very realistic!! I hope thatās the case guys!!! From what I know, Cornell hasnāt sent out ātop of the waitlistā emails ever (maybe they did long ago lol) so itās gotta mean something?
I donāt want to get toooooo optimistic, but letās stay positive
@.CALS applicants. Should we try to call CALS admissions to see if they will be using the waitlist? I havenāt seen any updates with regards to the CALS waitlist and I havenāt gotten an email back yet in response to my question.
Hey HumanEc folks I realized something in the middle of the night. I donāt think anybody else gets calls today or tomorrow (Friday) because HumanEcās initial calls were on Tuesday. Those candidates are given five days to decide, which puts them at Saturday. So I think Monday will be the earliest they make more calls, I am guessing. It makes sense that they see how many come back as accepting from that first batch.
Iām waiting on CALS too but I really donāt think that we should assume that they arenāt using the WL. Iām pretty sure ILR also hasnāt accepted off the waitlist and in the past CALS has used the waitlist so we should try to stay positive about this. I donāt think that they would purposely keep us in the dark especially when people have emailed them.
