Cornell Waitlist Class of 2024

When do we think Cornell waitlists will start to roll out?

i sincerly doubt it would be before may

is there anything else that should be sent in besides a loci like an updated transcript? or is that unnecessary?

i mean i dont think its necessary since they know most of the schools have closed and have moved to pass and fail

where do we send an additional letter of recommendation to? cant find the regional director of ny onlineā€¦ should we upload it on our own?

I mean according to the waitlist email they said there donā€™t really want another recommendation letter.

I was waitlisted for Dyson and also given the guaranteed transfer option. Anyone else?

i didnt know you can be waitlisted and given a TO at the same time

Wait list and TO at the same time are possible from SHA at least (was deferred ED, then wait listed, and then 2 days later received an email with the TO information if wait list spot doesnā€™t open up). It seems from comments in past years it was possible to be on wait list first, and then later in June find out you were moved to the TO.

Wait listed . Quick Q about financial aid . Received an email requesting to upload Financial Aid documents . If we respond by saying that we wont be eligible for aid based on EFC, will it hurt our chances of getting off the wait list ? any thoughts are appreciated.

Are you able and willing to pay full price? If so, Iā€™d let them know that; Iā€™ve read it helps getting off waitlists.

anyone has taken off the waitlist yet?

@FallAutumnLeaf iā€™ve read yale, dartmouth, chigago have

At this point, is there anything that can be done, other than sending the LOCI? Is it nice to have occasional contact with the admissions office? Is there anything else I can send? Or do I just wait?

Your LOCI is contacting the admission office. I am guessing we all just have to wait and hope for the best

IECā€™s are seeing movement on the Waitlist

What is IEC?

where did u see this

My son is on the WL at the Engineering school. However, I recently read that if you get off the waitlist and accept, you must attend. No deferring. Given Covid, I wonder if the flexibility of a gap-year would be wise. (if he gets off the WL). Just thinkingā€¦

If he gets off the waitlistā€¦you should accept. I doubt they would extend the offer for another year.

I know there is a lot of sentiment about. gap yearā€¦but if colleges are still closed, many businesses will also be closed and so will travel. what would he do?
