Cornell Waitlist Class of 2024

@gwang968 ahahahah “dear simp” that made my day

@gwang968 That’s good news for us. We just need to remain patient lmao.

Welp nothing today!

Yup. Pretty sure they are annoyed at me now. During my previous email, they said, “We know the wait can be agony, so feel free to let us know if you wish to be removed from the waitlist.”

Lol that’s gonna be a no from me dog

oh nah lmaooo. How many emails did u send them?

Lmaoo that’s so passive aggressive

I wouldn’t worry about it! They’re just prob tired from reading stuff

Also, so frustrating that there’s no news today as well. How long are we gonna wait ?

LOL CALS must be even more annoyed at me if they haven’t responded to my 4-week-ago email. If it’s someone who’s not gonna get off the waitlist its probably me hahahaha

LMAOOOOOO

Dear XXXX,

Thanks for your email and continued interest in Cornell A&S.

We will move through our waitlist admit process in a careful and measured way over the next couple of weeks, and your indication of continued interest on the survey helps to keep you in our pool.

Thanks for your patience! Please stay well and safe.

A&S Admissions

That’s what they replied to me.

That’s not good. It implies that they aren’t intending to take all of us because we are part of the “pool.” Maybe over-analyzing tho

Can’t wait to see our chances slowly diminish over time in a “careful and measured way.”

If I don’t hear back tmr I’m going to fill out my roommate form for another school. Until we hear from Cornell, let’s start engaging with the schools we’re committed to!

So is all hope lost for CAS people? I wonder how many waitlisted kids have been admitted already vs
how many Cornell usually takes.

No. They said they will take more people. We’re just not sure if that means most people who got the email or just a few. Basically, after several days of detective work from like 5 people, we have learned pretty much nothing. We just know they’ll take more people over the next two weeks.

If you got the email, you have an above average chance of being pulled. We still don’t know how much above average, but everyone who has been accepted so far got the email, so it’s fair to assume they are picking out of the email pool.

@gwang968, your posts are hilarious. Dear Simp. Offer to be removed from the WL. And especially the one about our chances diminishing in a “careful and measured” way over time.

Humor in times of angst is good, and happiness matters. ROFL.

Oof. The fact that they said the people who indicated continued interest on the form are just “in the pool”… that hurt me doe.

Well, I should probably just accept that the chances of me actually getting into an ivy league are incredibly slim and move onto the school I’m actually committed to.

Still think it was sorta sh*tty of them to word the email the way they did if they really aren’t gonna accept all of us in the end. What a shame. My family and friends were excited for me too and now it’s just nothing.

if you got which email? Is this about the survey they sent out, or a response to a continued interest email after May 1?

Check this article - Notre Dame surpassing enrollment targets despite the pandemic. Maybe other colleges also did not experience as much a dip as may have been feared?

Has anyone called/emailed the SHA admissions office? Wondering if the SHA waitlist has moved post-May-1 and if it still currently moving.

It was an email in late April saying that you are at the top of the waitlist. I think Cornell only sent it to CAS
