Cornell Waitlist Class of 2024

Anyone have any idea when Cornell will release (officially reject) people? Or is it too hard to tell?

@chickennoodlesoupppppp Someone said Cornell is planning to go into July, so I’m gonna say they are at the very least going through the entirety of June. I’d wait until end of June which is in a few days, and then whatever happens next is pretty unclear.

Who do you guys email to express continued interest in attending Cornell as an international applicant?

That’s consistent with the College of Engineering extending its deadline to request an enrollment deferral to July 17, 2020. The original deadline was June 1.

Does the extended enrollment deferral deadline of July 17, 2020 imposed by the College of Engineering apply to all colleges (CALS, CAS, HumEc, etc) within Cornell?

Here is what I found:

https://admissions.cornell.edu/apply/enrollment-deferral-policy

Enrollment Deferral Policy
Important Update: Early Decision enrolling (freshman) students and Regular Decision enrolling (freshman) students may submit gap year and deferral requests through mid-July. Previously published deadlines have been extended until July 10.

So should we expect to hear final decision around July 10?

@benandjerrys101 I think that would make sense.

Just wanted to drop in and say that I got an email Thursday for getting in, didn’t know until I checked my junk mail

@CrayonShinChan I saw you in the thread last year for the Cornell waitlist class of 2023. How come you are on the waitlist this year as well?

@CrayonShinChan do you mean you got off the transfer waitlist? Also, which school did you get into?

@prscustom24 i was waitlisted again this year as a transfer applicant haha, tough luck I guess. @chickennoodlesoupppppp I’m in CALS

Well, this looks like the end for us CAS hopefuls :frowning:

@justacuriouskid I think we should wait until the end of the day because July 10 is their deadline. The rejections should come out soon, but there still is a slim chance

Also has anyone gotten off recently?

Will Cornell send an email telling us if we’ve been rejected, or is the absence of an acceptance email all we’ll have to know that we didn’t get in?

@parklife94 I think most likely they’re gonna keep the waitlist open until mid/early August, at which point they’ll just send out an email saying the waitlist isn’t active anymore.
Also @chickennoodlesoupppppp just a guess but if they were to offer people admission wouldn’t it be next week, after the final deferral requests have come in by tonight and they’ve started looking over which waitlist people would be good replacements? Not saying that it’s not a slim chance but I don’t think they’d really be sending out emails today.

@yoyoyorar Next week or later in July sounds logical. Everyone’s working from home. This ICE deportation decree is probably throwing things into a frenzy. August is too late for housing assignments, course selection etc.

Do you think TOs are still an option for waitlisted CALS students?

Has anyone gotten a guaranteed transfer for CAS?
