thank you so much! i’m definitely planning on taking it :relaxed:

i did! it was sent in an email at 6:33 AM EST this morning

I’m on SHA waitlist and I didn’t get an email, what does that mean?

They only emailed CAS students not SHA

Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully the other schools will have a decision soon too.

Wow! Congrats on the Transfer Option!

Did you guys indicated you were interested in that on ur LOCI?

So basically, if the top half of ur portal disappears, it means cornell made their decisions.

yes

I wonder how much students got a transfer option for CAS

i didn’t! it came as a complete surprise, i’m so happy right now!!

Anyone here anything from engineering?

One kid just got a call from ILR and off from the waitlist from my daughter’s school.
Is that mean no chance anymore from same school?
We emailed on Sunday night, haven’t heard anything. Can we call the department?

I totally sympathize with you guys’ pain and anxiety over the waitlist (I check this thread every hour), but repeatedly calling/emailing them doesn’t accomplish anything. They’re going to release decisions as soon as they’re made. Pestering them might make them less willing to be patient/kind to us waitlisted applicants.

I love you all and wish you the best of luck. No matter what happens, thank you for working hard and staying alive. Here’s a Chinese proverb that might relieve a little bit of your depression/hopelessness/anxiety and offer some closure. But of course, let yourselves grieve a little. Keep dreaming big.

I don’t really think that calling will be of any help. They will let you know when the wait list is closed and at this point it is completely out of your hands. If your daughter didn’t apply to ILR then the other students acceptance has no effect on your daughters status. AND even if she did apply to ILR it likely came down to which student declined their offer whose fit at Cornell could be similarly matched by the student who was accepted. No one can definitively say yes they will take more students from your daughter’s school or no they won’t. You can call but I’m guessing you’ll get a generic answer when you could just wait a few more weeks to be given a final answer through a call, email, or status update. My two cents on calling is similar to SpookyPenguin’s above. I wish your daughter the best of luck with the wait list!

Same reason other schools don’t do it.

The people I know who have gotten Spring admits, were admitted for Spring admit, not as Spring transfers. There’s a specific FYSA for Cornell and that’s how they were accepted during RD period, not after being on a waitlist unfortunately.

It’s a bummer for sure, but try to have your student love the school they’re at and if they’re miserable then consider transferring, but sometimes it works out for the best.

Response from the regional AO, not too exciting…

I do not have an update on the CALS wait list at this time, but please know we will be in contact with you regarding the status of the wait list in the coming weeks.
