Cornell West Coast Finance Job Recruitment

Just curious, I've heard a lot of "go to school on east coast if you want to work in NY, West coast (Berkeley) for West coast jobs. Heading to Cornell for undergrad (live in SF and want to experience a change). Any good experiences with west coast financial industry recruitment at Cornell?

we don’t really get west coast recruiting oncampus. you’d have to network to be considered there.

Thanks. Anyone graduate from Cornell and go through interview process in SF? Any comments on alumni support?

i interviewed at multiple investment banks in sf. if you reach out and you’re not stupid, alums will help. the thing is, reaching out and meeting alums, networking, etc it’s just not as easy as clicking ‘apply’ on CCNet, which is why people don’t end up in the west coast usually.

It’ll take considerably more work than finding work on the east coast that is definitely for sure.
Not many on campus recruitment from the west coast.

But it is not impossible. You’ll need to network broadly and be flexible. But who knows, maybe you might even later consider working NY after doing an internship.
