Cornell?

Okay, well I had a bad semester, and my GPA is now at 3.5.
ACT- 33
SAT- 1980
I plan on actually studying and the retaking both of them.
APs- 2
Honor- every possible class
Extra-curriculars- tennis, speech, student congress, NHS (national honor society), mentoring, peer leader, karate, drum line, percussionist with a few accomplishments, STL (speed the light, annual Christian youth fundraiser) approx 200 volunteer hours and counting. Will have around 400 by the time I graduate. Have a part-time job, almost full time in the summer (I usually work around 40 hours in a week, depending on the baseball schedules. [i work at a baseball diamond])
Also, will be graduating with over 60 college credits from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. I'm in PSEO.
I want to be an architect, with a minor (possibly double major) in physics.
I'm nearly fluent in Spanish. (Have some trouble with slang and people who speak unusually fast, but can hold my own against a native speaker)
I skipped a year in math (was going to skip a grade, but realized it wouldn't really matter because I'd still need to meet the same requirements to graduate).
My family is really poor, if that helps/hurts my chances.
I will graduate with two architecture classes, and probably two physics classes, and be well on my way to a standard liberal arts degree.
What are my chances of getting into Cornell's architecture program? I'm probably going to their summer architecture camp/school this summer as well, which gives me credits specifically from Cornell. I'm going to get a 4.0 for the next 3 semesters, and get the F removed from my U GPA (but not my transcript. The U only counts the most recent grade in a class, so when I retake calculus, that'll boost my GPA a lot).
Do I have a snowball's chance in h-e-double-hockey-sticks of getting into Cornell? I write really good admissions essays too (if I do say so myself). Sorry for some of the grammar and capitalization mistakes. iPod plus 2am makes it tough. Thanks in advance!

The GPA is far from ideal, other then that you look okay…What is your class rank and what grade are you currently in?

^
grade???

Your GPA may hurt you, but then again that’s subjective. Your ACT is quite good and extra-circulars look decent. I would say a low reach to a match.

Chance me if you get a chance!

11th grade, and my class rank isn’t released at my school, plus nothing is weighted so I’m probably in the top 25%, b/c all the kids who don’t take AP/Honors courses get easy A’s…

A top 10% class rank is a given for ivy league schools for unhooked applicants, and it is nearly impossible to make up for it if you don’t have it. Although your school doesn’t rank, Cornell knows how competitive a 3.5 GPA is at your school. If you aren’t even sure if you are top 25%, I’d say your chances are incredibly slim.

I think Cornell is a bit of a reach with such a low SAT score and a low GPA - especially if your GPA was lower than a 3.5 before you improved it.
