Cornell- Match

Is that gpa weighted?

props for your bio score :)
great chance for EA (85%+)

I think many of you are misinformed...AEM is currently the hardest major at Cornell to get into with 15% acceptance rate...so anyone who says that AEM is a match for this indivdual is probably very misinformed. Definitely apply early as it will help your chances a lot..it is now the only other ivy league school with an undergraduate business program and many investors are starting to pump a lot of money into it...should be a top 8 program within 3 to 4 years

AEM is harder than engineering?

they look for different things so its like comparing apples and bananas..but aem does have a lower acceptance rate..much lower.

Valedictorian of our high school thisyear in New Jersey was flat out rejected. which I am actually very surprised about...but just to give you a little info on how competitive it is getting

Sports: That is a little scary, but what were the stats of him/her compared to me? I am assuming better than me because he/she was the valedictorian. I think there is still hope for me, I think my SAT's will improve from May and I will have great SAT IIs and AP scores along with great recommendations. I dont know if this helps, but my brother is currently attending Wharton.

your chances are ok, at best....

You have a 25-35% chance in my opinion!! Good luck.

Best chemistry student gets a 700 on SAT II? Anyways your SAT score will hurt your chances at Cornell but nice ECs<--that might just save you

I got a 700 on Chemistry SAT II after taking it as a sophmore from Honors Chem. I took AP Chem (my average was a 101.something) and I most likely got a 5 and will vastly improve my Chem SAT II.
You guys think I have that low of a chance while still applying early? Cornell's business program isn't on the top of the list yet (but I know it will be soon), so why would an elite student who is better than me and who wants to do business apply for the AEM major like me? Wouldnt they rather go to Wharton or Stern or the MIT/Harvard business school?

When you state "Newspaper, voted top 5 in nation" does that mean you as a writer is top 5 or the newspaper itself? Because if its the newspaper, that'll lower the impact that status has, being that the title is earned from teamwork, and the recogition will go towards mostly your editors.

The newspaper itself is top 5. I have been writing on it for the last 4 years and we have received besides the top 5 overall top 10 sports section. This includes me as I have been writing for the past 3 years on the same paper ( and I will be an assistant editor next year). The recognition will not all go towards the editors, that is completely untrue because it was he who wrote all my articles. To be the top newspaper is cumulative of all the articles, including mine.

I still cant imagine that AEM has 15% admittance when it isnt highly recognized...

Bust!!!!!!

get a 2100+ and you'll improve your chances a bit

AEM's hard to get into, but it's rumored that the major is easy as in the coursework.
