I am a junior in Minnesota and I am wondering what are some basic requirements for Cornell. Things like GPA, ACT/SAT scores would be great! I know more that testing and GPA matter but some things have to be close to requirements. Like I said I live way up north so I don't know a lot about Cornell. Please help!! Thank you so much.

3.6+ UW GPA with rigorous courseload,2150+ SAT,750+ SAT II.

meaningful extracurriculars, meaningful volunteering

To be honest, while Cornell has high standards, they seem to look for unique individuals. I am from California and will be attending Cornell next year as a GT. I come from a small, rural high school of 500 kids, needless to say I was not given the opportunity to take AP classes or the help of college scouts. I was however, very involved in school. It is best to dedicate yourself to a few clubs or volunteer projects that you can show you are passionate. I am almost positive I was accepted as a GT because of my essays and extracurriculars. Yes my GPA was a 4.0 but my SAT scores were shy of a 2100 by 350 points and my SAT II’s were not that fab either. They have high standards but honestly if you work hard and have great essays, GPA, and references- they will look over SAT’s.

^ First…are you like the girlfriend of norcalguy? lol

Second, I agree. Cornell looks at the whole person. Especially true in certain schools - Human Ecology, ILR, Hotel School. CALS also seems to require a special commitment to their ideology.

Haha no I have talked to him once though and I am wayyy farther north than he is.

Definitely agree with you on the colleges…I am in CALS.

Go CALS! (me too)

Lol i like your forum name norc

haven’t been on here much lately but I gotta say the title for this thread is notably uninspired AND quite redundant.
