Cornellians make it happen

just had an all-ivy event in our town - it was the Cornellians who made it happen - not Penn - not Harvard...

Go on, go on! Give us the details ;)

I get emails about “all-Ivy” mixers and happy hours in my city (Chicago) but i always figured they were like singles/matchmaking events for older alumni. Are there any valuable networking benefits for young alumni?

maybe…when we were in Chicago as Young Alums (in the 70’s) the first thing we got invited to was a Zinck’s Night - which I think started as a Young (Cornell) Alum thing and moved to an all-age thing now.

When I look at the photos of All-ivy events in other cities it looks like a social event…

however, when my d sent out the e-mails about this event here quite a few “older” young alums (!!!) expressed interest in it as they were interested in networking not social …one non-Cornellian is offering to take it over as she is leaving the country…

I would try it if I were you, but then again I am the mom who is always saying, go, you might meet someone. or she/he might have a friend. so, what do you lose - an hour or so?
