So I took the April 9th ACT with Writing and I got 35C. However, my writing was only a 23. I want to apply to Cornell’s SHA and I was wondering if the writing portion of the ACT is required in the application, because I don’t really want them to see my writing score.
I would ask for a hand-score on the writing. Details can be found on their website. There are tons of threads on here (including mine) where students scored really high, like 31+, but had writing scores in the high teens to low twenties. I’m waiting on the request I submitted two weeks ago because on every practice test I’ve done I got a 36W. With your composite, I really don’t see why your situation would be different unless you felt you did really poorly on the writing section. Good luck
