How good is the program? Does anyone know anything about admissions, prestige, etc.? I know that it is in CALS. Thanks!

Cornell is not "known" for it's Communications program per se (like Syracuse's Newhouse), but it is an excellent program nevertheless. I know quite a lot of young grads from the program who landed excellent jobs in related fields (advertising, PR, journalism, etc.) There are a lot of opportunities to do research in the applied social sciences in CALS which is an added bonus. You have to complete the core curriculum in Communications and chose one of four focus areas: Communication in the Life Sciences; Communication Media Studies; Communication and information technologies (a fairly new leading edge concentration); and Communication and Social Influence.

Their website pretty much explains all of the requirements http://www.comm.cornell.edu/

Thanks, anyone else?
