Can anyone share stats/choice of major for those who were invited for Coronat? I said this elsewhere - I know everyone thinks their kid is the best/brightest, but just wondering what the profile is for those invited. My daughter had a VERY strong application (4.0/4.7, 1530 SAT, published research within her desired major, founded a local chapter of a non-profit, etc). Just bummed (or delusional that she’d even be competitive for it) I guess.
I believe it is a maxwell/college of arts and sciences
My daughter is a strong student for her large, public, suburban, middle class Upstate NY high school, but certainly does not have the stats of your child or many on this forum. Our high school does not rank, but she is top 10%. 97 unweighted average, 5 AP, 2 SUPA(through Syracuse University), 2 through SUNY Oswego. She did not submit SAT/ACT. She has very good ECs, including leadership roles, but definitely not research or published ect. I don’t know if being local helped her? I do believe that applying to be dual enrolled for English in A&S and school of Education is helpful. I believe they want to grow their education department. We toured in the summer and signed up to talk to the education department as well and were fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time with them in a very small group so maybe that helped too? She is definitely a very strong writer and I think very poised for her age. And like someone else said, Coronat is only for students enrolled in A&S. I’m sorry for your disappointment! It sounds like you have an amazing kid!!! Hopefully they get one of the other big scholarships. Good luck!

I heard they interview 45? And I think they offer it to several. I’m seriously shaking right now! This would be a dream come true for my kid!
I also moved on! The Syracuse website says 40 are selected for interviews and 30 kids get it! Good luck!!

Sounds like there might be fewer acceptances than the initial info made it seem like. My daughter thought it went really well.
