Correct Transferring Procedure?

I'm a freshman at my college right now and I'm hating the social life, and my academic potential is higher than this, I feel. The classes aren't too bad as of yet, and I figure I could easily get above a 3.5. I'd like to transfer to UMiami, for next fall, which was my first choice during high school. I got rejected last year because I had a pretty bad GPA and was in no clubs, etc. I'm in a few clubs now though, I can get their "accepted" GPA, and I could get a good professor recommendation. I can write a good essay and all that jazz. Also, my SAT was 1950 "super score" and 1920 in my best single test.

I just need to know what the steps are to successfully get into the school next fall.
I'm taking 16 credits right now.
I will need financial aid, or my mother wont allow me to go (I got a pretty good scholarship at the university I'm at now) so the steps for that too.

I'm going to transfer out of this school indefinitely, however part of the reason I say UMiami now is because, not only was it my first choice during high school, but one of my good friends from home is there and says he is loving it. Is it bad to go to a school my friend is at? I would probably join his clique, initially at least.

I'll appreciate any feedback/links to follow to find an already made "to-do list"

Thanks a lot!

Looks like you’re going to need at least a 3.75 for merit aid:

Their website looks pretty straight forward, what do you need to know that isn’t described there?
