I corrected my FAFSA and it was processed on the 17th. However, I received an email today saying I was disqualified for any Cal Grants, and that it was based on the FAFSA submitted on the 10th. Do I notify them of the change? Will they receive it and review the corrected information?

Also, the only school I saw when I logged in was UC Berkeley denying me Cal Grants. I listed several schools when I applied for the FAFSA. Can I get Cal Grants still for other schools? Other UCs? Are these the only things I am waiting to hear back on or what? I mean, it says I am disqualified for A, B, and C. Does this mean I am not receiving any financial aid, and shouldn't bother logging back on to see if anything changed?

ETchange:: Sorry, I thought you meant that you were being disqualified because of a deadline. It seems like the changes are because of a significant change in your AGI?

Always bother to check, btw!! If they’re saying you’re not eligible specifically for the Cal grants, that doesn’t mean you won’t get other aid. The Cal grant is pretty small compared to other grants/ school scholarships, anyway. Don’t take that to mean you’re disqualified from all forms of aid.

The school will automatically receive the corrected information if they’re on your FAFSA school list. They will send you an updated FA package if they’ve already sent you one.

If you are disqualified for the Cal Grant, that means for all schools. the Cal Grant only accepts one school, which is the 1st school on your FAFSA. If you qualified for the Cal Grant and ended up going to a different school you would need to go in and change the school on the Cal Grant website to the actual school you will attend.

You should receive your financial aid packages from the colleges that you were accepted at sometime in March. You may still qualify for other financial aid - each school will notify you what financial aid (scholarships/grants/loans) they will offer you.
