Corrections to FAFSA

So I estimate values for FAFSA right now. After my parents do their taxes and I have the right values, do I submit the FAFSA again with the corrected values or do I send individual schools the corrected values?

You should contact the schools and ask them what they want - most likely they will want copies of your 2006 tax forms (1080, W2, that kind of stuff - I am far from a tax expert)

hi

If you did your FAFSA on-line, you can go back and correct the numbers once your parents complete their 2005 taxes. Encourage them to do it as soon as possible. Then you resubmit.

If your schools asked for the Profile, you need to print out a copy and make changes on the copy. Send those to each school that requires the Profile.

Some schools require additional information. You may need to send the school or IDOC a copy of your and your parents 2005 tax statements and/or other forms. Only way to know if schools require other forms is to check their website.

Hope that helps.

what does IDOC stand for?

Institutional Documentation Service is the College Board's date collection and verification service. More info is found on the College Board site.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the 1080 form?

Also do colleges generally require documents to verify investements such as CD savings and stocks?
