ok. well there’s another one that someone else made that works. go find it! it should say COSMOS UCI 2009 on Facebook!!

backup for what?

can we restart the thread because i am trying to get into ucsc for cosmos and i need peoples input.

Hey guys! So I did COSMOS at UC Davis last year, and it was definitely a great experience! I don’t think it’s that hard to get into as long as you have “decent” stats. Just have a good GPA, because you don’t have to submit SAT scores (I have never took the SAT or any AP’s when I was accepted). Just show that you’re genuinely interested in the program. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know how competitive Molecular Biology Revolution at UCSD is? I have a 4.4 weighted, 4.0 unweighted, good recommendations (my AP stats teacher and honors bio teacher), and I haven’t written my essays yet, but I think they should be good. My main problem is I don’t really have any math/ science extra-curriculars… is that a major piece of the app? I have other ecs… but they don’t really have anything to do with math… thanks!

also go to the new 2010 cosmos thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/summer-programs/862532-cosmos.html

how good is COSMOS mathematics? I am in multivariable calculus honors; almost qualified for the aime (though my score does not reflect that), but the sample combinatorics problems they had up didn’t look too hard…

Hi! Im gong to apply for the Genomes cluster at UC Irvine this year.
I was wondering if you could tell me how much of a chance I have in getting in.
GPA unweighted: 3.8
GPA weighted: 4.16
I’m a sophomore and am currently taking Precalculus and AP Biology.
I am an intern at a local lagoon where I am conducting research on the correlation between compost age and plant growth.
I am also going to be working under the instruction of a professor at East Bay in his lab.

For extra curriculars I wasnt sure if I should list only math/science related…
