<p>I was looking at last year's waiting thread and it took up 2 threads so I thought I would start one for this year since, as far as I could tell, there isn't one and I thought that it would be interesting to hear from people who have applied!
Also this is my first post so if there is a thread please redirect me to it, if not let the discussion begin! :)</p>

<p>I’m a junior who applied to UCSD. Cluster 8 (Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine) is my first choice and Cluster 7 (Bioengineering/Mechanical Engineering: The Amazing Red Blood Cell) is my second choice.</p>
<p>@magnificent6 I applied to UCSC cluster 3 and 8, both had to do with marine organisms and such, what about you?</p>

<p>I applied to cluster 8 and 9 at UCD which were The Chemistry of Life and Biological Systems. Hope we all get in!</p>

<p>2180 SAT score, 4.0 UW GPA, top 5%, lackluster EC’s. I think my essays and recommendations were decent. I think my EC’s and SAT score may be an issue, but hopefully not.</p>
<p>I signed up for UCI cause it’s the closest to home. 10 more days!</p>
<p>The essays and recs are weighed more heavily then EC’s and SAT score, you should be fine!
I live in the valley so UCSC is the closest to me!</p>
<p>I live near LA. UCI is the closest to me, but it’s still like an hour away. I chose based on which clusters and school I liked best, so I picked UCSD.</p>
<p>Same here! Plus I want to apply to UCSC in the fall so it will be a good experience to see if I like and can live on the campus</p>

<p>I am a sophomore who is applying to UCSD: 1st = Kinetic Sculptures 2nd = Computers in Everyday Life. I applied last year and got waitlisted.</p>
<p>EC’s: - Years of self-learned computer programming
- 2 years Debate Team
- Co founded AMC Math Team at my school this year
- Began independent research in astronomy in January
- Solar Boat Team (we build a boat powered by solar panels to participate in the solar cup in may)</p>
<p>Recs: 1 I know and think should be good, and the other should be decent (I hope)</p>
<p>Essays: Spent a RIDICULOUSLY long time working on them. I think they were good.</p>
<p>School Stuff: - Number 1 in Sophomore Class
- 4.9/5.0 GPA or 4.6667</p>

<p>This years waiting period was really short. Last year felt like FOREVER. LOL I remember everyday clicking on the webpage like 10 times XD This year has been a lot different.</p>
<p>Oh, btw. What are all of your guys’ app. status right now? Mine has been “Under Review” for a long time.</p>
