I come from the second poorest city in the US, in which my school is the worst, so I don’t have many opportunities some other kids in different cities have. Currently my school is only offering AP classes and has the most irresponsible kids ever.

My rising junior was accepted to UCD, cluster 2 (first choice) - Physics in Electro optics and Nuclear Technology. Caucasian male attending an independent school. His school reverses the order in which science classes are taken (as do the other independent schools in our area), so they start with Physics, then move on to Chem and Bio. As a general rule, cannot take AP classes until Junior year; Honors courses in English and History are also not offered until Junior year.
uw GPA: 3.8
w GPA: 4.1
Honors courses: Physics, Chem, Algebra 2, PreCalc, Spanish 2

advice from a 2013 cosmos alumni-
cosmos will change your life. i know it changed mine.
even if at first you feel lonely, misplaced, or homesick, your will develop lasting friendships with at least the people you dorm with. you will grow intellectually as well as socially, and you will have the time of your life at cosmos.
for me, it’s been almost a year of not living the cosmos life and i’m still having withdrawal depression. i miss my cosmos friends and lifestyle so much and i constantly think about it, and it makes me really really sad.

@nearea‌ I got accepted into Davis too and I’m also conflicted on the whole bike thing. Is it really going to be that big of a deal if we don’t have a bike? Maybe I should email the head of the program O.o
