HI!
i just got waitlisted for UCI 2019 and was wondering what my chances were of getting in off the list?
Thanks and congrats to all accepted students!!! <3
rejected!! oof
according to 2015 data, 2% of applicants were waitlisted (about 86). Not sure what exactly that means thoā¦
@catras omg I was admitted to that cluster as well! However Iām a bit confused because in the portal it says UC Davis but the cluster is at UCSC? Does yours say UC Davis as well? And congrats!
Oh never mind. It changed now ?
Rejected from cluster 1 at UCD. Surprising since I was accepted to YSP. Congratulations to those who got in !!!
@catras @seethevision127 Congrats galore! Can you and the others who were accepted please share your stats? It will be helpful to try next time.
did anyone else get into cluster 9 (ml/nlp) at ucsc?
Hey guys, help!!! I got accepted into COSMOS UCI cluster 2, but a professor at UCLA who is conducting research on vaccines and cancer has also agreed to let me intern in her lab. Should I go to UCLA or COSMOS?
Got admitted into my first choice āCluster 6: Biomedical Sciences ā Clinical Translational Science: The Next Generation of Biomedical Researchā. Really happy and excited about this but then I saw that my āadmission offer does not include financial assistanceā. Which basically means that I canāt go since I just canāt afford to pay for the damn program :ā(
By any chance, does anyone here know if you can appeal a change to the financial aids decision? Has anyone ever done it before and if so, how did it go? Please help me out, thank you!
does anyone know the latest they will notify you if you get off the waitlist?
accepted! anyone else going to cluster 4 at UCI?
internship proves passion. Iād say definitely go for internship. Plus, if your a sophomore, than next year when you apply to more prestigious programs you can flex that you already have research experience.
Congrats to all those who got in. Your hard work paid off. For those who did not, Not the end of the world. Good luck for one of the other programs you applied for. If not, reach out to professors in the area of your interest in a near by university and strive to do something productive this summer.
how was ucd cluster 6? I just got accepted
Accepted - UCSC Cluster 4: Waves: The Physics of Sound and Astrophysics of Light
Grade: 10
GPA: 3.8 UW oof
ECs: STEM tutor, CubeSat (a program where top STEM students create and launch a satellite)
Essays: Good (definitely what got me in lol, Iām a strong writer)
good luck next year!
Thanks @catras Have a fantastic time at Cosmos!
Accepted - UCSC Cluster 4: Waves: The Physics of Sound and Astrophysics of Light
Grade: 10
GPA: 4.0 UW (but it changed in the portal I donāt know why), 4.33 W
ECs: CyberPatriot Club, Mathcounts (in the past)
Esssy: ehhhh alright? They had passion and demonstrated who I was, but Iām a relatively weak writer. I tried really hard on my essays though.
I think what got me in were my grades, but my essays were pretty unique and probably added some points to my app. But Iām still in shock that I was accepted >~<
Best of luck to everyone applying next year!
@thequeenmum1
I applied to both clusters that you did too, and got accepted to cluster 4 as well. Kinda funny that we did the exact same thing! Iām worried about the fact that no one else in this thread has talked about clusters 4 or 1 at UCI thoughā¦ It feels like an uncompetitive cluster at a less competitive campus, I mean 2 of my friends that applied to other clusters got rejected even though I considered them to have better chances of getting in than me.
Anyone else applied to clusters 4 or 1 at UCI AT ALL??
waitlisted to ucsd cluster 6
